The retail opportunity in the DMV

The DMV's immigrant retail economy is concentrated in Montgomery and Prince George's counties as much as in the District itself, along commercial corridors that have served the same communities for decades.

El Salvador is the dominant corridor and one of the most crypto-aware in the hemisphere, for reasons specific to that country's own policy history. Households on this end of it frequently arrive at a counter already knowing what they want.

    On the ground

Where the counters are in Washington, DC

Check cashers, money transfer agencies, Latin American and Ethiopian grocers, phone shops, tax preparation offices, convenience stores. These are the formats the program was designed around, and the neighbourhoods below are where they cluster.

    Neighbourhoods and corridors

Columbia Heights & Mount Pleasant · Petworth & Georgia Avenue · Langley Park · Wheaton · Silver Spring · Hyattsville & Riverdale · Alexandria — Arlandria

    Store formats that fit

Check cashers, money transfer agencies, Latin American and Ethiopian grocers, phone shops, tax preparation offices, convenience stores.

    Where the money is sent

El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Cameroon — the corridors that drive stablecoin demand at a Washington, DC counter.

    Languages at the counter

Spanish, English, Amharic, French. Serving a customer in their own language is the single biggest advantage a counter has over an app.

    The arithmetic

What a single transaction is worth to the store

You keep a share of every order. Bigger order, bigger share. The examples below use 1% to 3% — your own rate is in your agreement.

Illustrative store revenue by order size at a 1% to 3% revenue share
At the counterOrder sizeStore keeps (low)Store keeps (high)
A customer cashes a check and puts part of it into Bitcoin$200$2.00$6.00
A regular buys USDT to send to family overseas$500$5.00$15.00
A customer sells crypto and takes the cash$1,000$10.00$30.00
A small business owner buys on payday, every other week$2,500$25.00$75.00
One larger order, the kind an ATM's daily cap refuses$10,000$100.00$300.00

The figures above are worked examples, not projected or guaranteed earnings. They show how the arithmetic works on a given order size at an illustrative revenue-share range. Your actual rate is set in your agent agreement, and what any individual store earns depends on its foot traffic, its neighbourhood, its hours and how many customers it serves. Anytime Capital does not promise any level of income.

    • A money order earns you cents. A wire earns a flat fee, however big it is. This does not.
    • No monthly fee. No minimum. Nothing to buy back before the first dollar is yours.
    • Your customer pays our normal published price. Your share does not change it.

The Salvadoran corridor is unusually crypto-literate

El Salvador's own national experiment with Bitcoin made the asset a normal topic of household conversation on both ends of the corridor, whatever anyone thinks of the policy. A store serving Salvadoran customers in Langley Park or Arlandria is not introducing an unfamiliar idea.

The Ethiopian community across Silver Spring and Alexandria is a second, quite different corridor with its own retail strip and its own remittance patterns.

The DMV also has an unusually high concentration of multi-service storefronts — places that cash checks, send money, sell phone minutes and do taxes under one roof — which is the format this program fits best.

What a Washington, DC store actually signs up to

Your employee signs in at retail.anytime-capital.com, verifies the customer once, places the order and takes the payment at the counter. There is no machine to install, no crypto for the store to hold and no float to fund.

Anytime Capital is the registered money services business behind the transaction and carries the customer identification programme, the monitoring and the reporting. Your store is a serving location, and your existing licences remain yours with their own obligations.

Onboarding is a compliance review and a training session. Nothing is delivered to your address, and there is nothing to earn back before the first order is profitable.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does the program cover Maryland and Virginia as well as DC?

The retail team confirms availability for each location during onboarding. Much of the region's relevant retail is in Montgomery, Prince George's and northern Virginia rather than in the District.

Are Salvadoran customers already familiar with Bitcoin?

More than most. El Salvador's national policy made it an ordinary household topic on both ends of the corridor, which shortens the conversation at a counter considerably.

Do I need a licence of my own to do this?

Not to act as a serving location for Anytime Capital's platform. Anytime Capital is the registered money services business and carries the compliance programme for the activity. State law varies, so what applies to your specific store is confirmed during onboarding, and nothing here is legal advice.

Is there any equipment to install?

None. The platform runs in a browser on a phone, tablet or the PC already behind your counter. There is no kiosk, no floor space requirement and no monthly platform fee.

How long does it take to serve a customer?

One to two minutes for a first-time customer, because their identity is verified once. Under a minute for everyone after that.
